Terms of Service
Booking Policy
All pets will firstly have an introduction with a free initial consultation for new clients at their home address or by telephone appointment, prior to undertaking any services. Return consultations are charged at £10 for 30-60 minutes.
Dan's Dogs reserves the right to refuse admission to any pet deemed in their discretion to be or have the potential to be dangerous or disruptive.
The owner is to make full disclosure of any quality or characteristic problems which may cause a pet to be unsuitable for proceeding with any services. These can include behavioural issues, health, antisocial display, aggression, incontinence or lack of house training and will be judged a material omission and breach of our agreement.
It is recommended that all new clients' dogs walked are taken on their first walk with them to ensure their comfortability.
Dan's Dogs reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time if the dog does not respond to the walker.
The owner agrees to have taken all any necessary measures and precautions to ensure that their pet(s) are symptom free from any contagious infections or diseases and agrees to notify Dan's Dogs immediately of any infectious and/or contagious diseases or conditions their pet(s) has been exposed or affected by.
The owner confirms that all vaccinations, treatments, immunisations, flea/worm treatments, and licenses from the ownership of the dog have been obtained and are up to date.
Dan's Dogs will agree an arranged time when any service commences. If any unforeseen circumstances occur, please allow approximately 30 minutes after your arranged time slot for a dog walker/sitter/trainer to attend. In adverse weather conditions please understand that we still operate Dan's Dog's services but may be slightly delayed.
Payments are to be made in advance via BACS or PayPal at least 24 hours before the start date of service. Payments for any service will be required before any service commences.
Multiple sessions of walking and/or training will be discounted to Dan's Dogs discretion. Pet Sitting services excluded.
Shorter walks up to 30minutes can be arranged for specific dogs with particular needs at £10.
Walks are priced for up to two dogs from the same household. Additional dogs will be priced at an extra £8.
Walking services are included in Overnight Sitting services, consisting of two 60 minute daily walks (morning and evening).
Daily Check-in Visits consist of One Visit and Two Visits each from 30 minutes, excluding walking session time.
Daily Check-in Visits and Day Sitting services accompanied with Dog Walking services, will be priced as two separate services. Discount £10 per hourly walk, excluding additonal dogs.
Dog training sessions are priced per session. A minimum of sessions is required for each specific course. see Dog Training section.
Day Sitting is priced per hour, excluding walks.
The owner/client agrees to fill and sign the following necessary documents for that particular service to start:

Failure to complete and sign all necessary documents will prevent any services from commencing.
Collection & Handover
(Walking and Sitting)
The owner will either provide access for Dan's Dogs to collect the dog from the agreed address at the agreed times on the booked days or provide Dan's Dogs with a key to the property. Dan's Dogs will only use a key to the owner's property to collect and return the dog and to commence daily pet care visits with no other purpose. All property keys will be kept safe and securely by Dan's Dogs and returned upon request.
Access to your property must be straight forward i.e. keys should open doors easily or gates should be easy to open. If access to the property cannot be gained, after making every reasonable effort you will still be charged for the session booked.
Where a dog flap is fitted to the property, it is the owner’s sole responsibility to ensure that the property’s grounds are fully secure.
The owner will supply suitable collars and/or harnesses for walking dogs. Under the Control of Dogs order 1992, dogs must wear a collar and an identity tag when in a public place. The identity tag must show the name and address of the owner. In the absence of an identity tag, Dan's Dogs will attach an identity tag to your dog for the duration of the walk.
All dog collars, harnesses and leads are to be provided by the owner and must be both secure and safe to use. Retractable leads are prohibited for the safety and security of the dog. Dan's Dogs will not be held liable for injury or damage caused or incurred by the dog from an ill-fitting or faulty collar or lead.
All dogs will be cleaned to a satisfactory condition before being returned home from a walk. However, Dan's Dogs will not be held liable for any associated grooming or cleaning charge because of the dog walk.
Dog Training
Clients have 48 hours from booking a training course to inform Dan's Dogs that they wish to cancel the course. A full refund will be given.
If the course has started within 48 hours of purchasing the course, the sessions taken will be deducted from the refund.
No refund will be given if the course has been completed within 48 hours.
If notice is given later than 48 hours of the date of purchase, or clients change their mind throughout the course, no refund will be given. The only exemption will be upon rehoming or unfortunate death. In this event, clients will be required to provide evidence.
Clients can change the date of a session, providing a minimum of 24 hours notice. Failure to do so will result in missing a session and no refund will be given.
Dan's Dogs reserves the right to terminate the contract immediately if they believe continuing with the contract poses a significant danger to the dog, other animals, the owner or members of the public.
Dan's Dogs will apply personal judgment and terminate outdoor training in the circumstances of extreme weather conditions, including, but not limited to, excessive heat, torrential rain, thunderstorms and snow/ice. In such circumstances, the decision to refund that session (complete or partial) is at the discretion of Dan's Dogs.
Although a 100% success rate with training methods cannot be guaranteed, Dan's Dogs has a very high success rate with previous clients that follow methods with further training at home with confidence.
Results from training in all environments are never instant and take commitment from the client to work with their dog in the long term.
Dogs known to bite other dogs or cause any injuries are advised to wear a muzzle; Dan's Dogs takes no responsibility for dogs who are not muzzled or kept under control, during our session or when working outside of our session.
Dan's Dogs is insured, however, any accident or injury during training sessions will not be covered if you have failed to use the appropriate equipment or failed to follow our advice.
The client agrees to permit Dan's Dogs to share stories about my dog, including videos and photographs on Dan's Dogs' website and Facebook page.
The client agrees to regularly update the dog's progress throughout training via WhatsApp, e-mail, text, Facebook page or responding to any communication from Dan's Dogs.
All dogs must wear a collar and tag and must have the owner’s name and address under the Control of Dogs Order 1992.
All dogs must be microchipped under The Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2014.
Should any injury occur to you, your dog or any visitors during the sessions or on any premises or public place while practising the training is not the responsibility of Dan's Dogs.
To ensure your dog receives the best tailored training, courses are provided with a required minimum amount of consecutive sessions for each specific training course as follows:

Cancellation & Termination
Dan’s Dogs will apply personal judgment and cancel or cut short any walk time, due to extreme weather conditions, considered unsafe to either the dog or walker
Should any dog become aggressive or dangerous, Dan’s Dogs will terminate the Dog Walking Agreement with immediate effect and discuss training with the client.
Any wrongful or misleading information in the Dog Walking Contract, Pet Sitting Contract, Client Registration Form or Veterinary Release Form may constitute a breach of terms of this Pet Service Agreement and be grounds for instant termination thereof.
Dan's Dogs reserves the right to terminate any services with any breach or repetitive cancellations with immediate effect.
Clients can cancel prepaid booked services and are refunded for any remaining slots, providing 48hours notice after the date of purchase. A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to rearrange a session.
If clients have prepaid for booked slots and terminate services outside of the 48 hour notice period for any service, this will still be fully charged to cover the cost of preparations and/or additional administration fees or equipment purchases.
Care of Pets
The owner is responsible and is to ensure that their pet is up to date with their vaccinations, flea, tick and de-wormer treatments.
The owner must ensure that their dog has been microchipped and the details are up to date under The Microchipping of Dogs (England) Regulations 2014.
The owner agrees to have taken all any necessary measures and precautions to ensure that their pets are free of contagious infections or communicable diseases and agrees to notify Dan’s Dogs immediately of any infectious and/or contagious diseases or conditions their dog has been exposed or affected by.
The owner accepts that if their dog attacks, or is involved in a fight with another dog (and/or person) causing injury to that dog (and/or person), the owner will be solely responsible for any losses incurred as a result including, but not limited to, payment of veterinary fees associated with injuries to another animal caused by their dog. It is recommended that your dog be insured against sickness, accident or injury and for third party liability.
Any treats given by Dan’s Dogs are given at the owner's discretion and permission. A constant supply of fresh, clean water provided.
The owner will agree with Dan's Dogs at the time of booking if any medications are to be administered.
The owner allows their dog to be photographed, filmed, and/or used in any media or advertising without prior approval from the owner. All such photographs, etc. are the property of Dan’s Dogs.
Prices
Prices are listed on the Services page. My prices are very competitive and non-negotiable. Prices are subject to increase; clients will be given prior notification if price changes will take place.
Emergency Policy
Dan’s Dogs will contact the owner immediately in the unfortunate event of an emergency and take your pet to either the owner's vet or nearest vet if veterinary aid is required.
Dan’s Dogs will make every effort to contact the owner and the owner's vet in the event of an emergency and recommend owners to provide us with a contact number of a trusted third party should we be unable to contact the owner. However, we reserve the right to make decisions regarding the owner's dog’s health, provided it is always in the best interests of the dog and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon.
The owner is responsible for payment of any veterinary fees incurred by the dog walker. Dan’s Dogs cannot be held accountable for vet fees or third-party claims relating to injuries or illness which occur whilst your dog is in Dan's Dogs' care.
The owner agrees to sign the Veterinary Release Form for any service to start.
